1st day in beijing

i arrived last night in beijing in what seemed like a short flight.  I guess the muscle relaxer and redwine worked their magic.  China itself is not what i remembered but i'm not sure what i remember any how is all that real.  In any case, the experience has been some what sureal.  Big city lights with lots of chinese ppl but me feelings a bit out of place.  i find myself thinking in english but trying to manage in chinese.  ppl are probably trying to figure out what i am since i seem to wander aimlessly and the see me cross the same street corner 3x in a row for no particular reason.  I live across from the biggest KTV center i have ever seen but i have not set foot in it.  singing alone in a "foreign" country is rather depressing.  aside from that, i also live next door to a good bbq/dinho like place so that makes me happy.  i also ate MickeyDs here for breakfast b/c i got hungry.  i will brave the local meals of soymilk tomorrow morning.  i start work then.  Today, if i'm up for it, i think i will visit the forbidden city to see what it's like and visit the famous starbucks in its center.  any how, all is well on the eastern front.  i will keep you all posted.

Nanners out.

So........it's been a long time coming, but as some of you know, the move to China is all but set.  Early part of Sept I will pack my suitcases and head to Beijing for a project.  I think in many ways it will be a good opportunity and life will be challenging and different, possibly even difficult, than the one I lived for the past 18years or so.  Although what is a journey if you dont have surprises and this for me is about as big a surprise as it can be for the time being.

Anyhow, I hope you all will take time to visit and if I'm there till 2008, definitely let me know so I can try to score tkts for the Olympics.  You never know, this reverse fob journey i'm taking shall be one heck of a story to tell, or so I hope.

Cheers kidos, I will be partying with you all from now through labor day.  On another note, the SACUM golf tournament may be a big hit this year as it's a reality show to be shown on AZN TV.  I will keep you fools posted.
